Behold the Nokia N81 Mobile Device
The Nokia N81 is a fantastic piece of another N series mobile phone topped with 8GB of storage and lacking some of the important features which Nokia realizes are important but fails to add as it may come in the way of its premium flagship n95 device. Feature wise, the camera lets the whole fun of owning this device down as it sports a poor 2 megapixel fixed focus camera which by industry standards is an obsolete technology.
The mobile comes in black slider casing with an excellent sliding mechanism which doesn’t wear out with use. The body sports two stereo speakers on either side of the mobile which makes this device very loud and you won’t miss a single ring even in the maddest of the crowds.
The device has been targeted as a N-gaging device which means that this device is aimed towards the younger generation and there has been quite a lot in the news recently that Nokia is going to revive its N-gage brand with a host of new games to be launched.
The 8GB memory is extensively used by the phone to store multimedia in form of music, pictures, games and other document files. They take advantage of the big video screen of the device to give the best user experience. But the video department is bit of a turn down as it doesn’t support the current video formats like Divx and avi which means that you will have to buy third party software to do so and with 8GB of capacity it should have been by default included in the package itself.
The phone has host of connectivity options like 3G, wi-fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP profile which means that you can use wireless stereo handsets for complete music experience with this phone. The phone supports an innovative iPod like navi-wheel interface which makes going through the large database of songs very easy. But the bad thing is that they did not implement to use that interface in menu which has to be done standard way with arrow keys.
Overall the phone sounds good, but it’s definitely not for taking pictures.
